天长龙岗村古称芙蓉岗，坐落在美丽的高邮湖畔。2014年，龙岗村被列入第三批中国传统村落名录。

据悉，这里原是高邮湖泥沙淤积而成的一片高地，犹如花瓣，像一朵芙蓉，被称为芙蓉岗。船家在此停歇，逐渐繁华起来，成了一个小集市。这里三面环水，六条老街形成“田”字形纵横排列。清时，皖东唯一的状元戴兰芬即生于龙岗村。

Longgang village in Tianchang city is located by Gaoyou Lake. It’s listed in Traditional Chinese Villages Catalog.
It used to be a highland formed by accumulated sediment of Gaoyou Lake. As it looks like petals of a hibiscus (furong in Chinese pinyin), it was also called Furonggang. In ancient times, boatmen anchored their boats here, and gradually a small market with six interlaced old streets was formed.

这里明清古民居保存完好，又区别于皖南徽派古建筑。雕梁斗拱，秀树参天。古街、古庙、古楼、古牌匾，布局合理，功能完善，古朴典雅，民族特色鲜明。

The village boasts many well-preserved ancient dwellings of the Ming and Qing dynasties, but they look different from ancient Hui-style architectures in southern Anhui. These ancient buildings—carved beam stones, old streets, and ancient temples, towers and plaques—all show reasonable layout. The village was home to Dai Lanfen, the only?Zhuangyuan (the person ranked first class in the highest level of the Chinese imperial exam) of eastern Anhui in the Qing dynasty.

龙岗古镇还是“革命摇篮”所在地。1941年，中国人民抗日军政大学第八分校来到龙岗办学，历时四年多，培养学员2000多人。分校原址为元代真武庙，走进分校，首先看到的是新四军革命烈士雕塑，内部陈列了当时战士们生活和作战用的汽油灯、军号等，以及缴获敌军的军装、步枪、刺刀等，罗炳辉曾用过的刀具、电话机等，老物件让历史场景一一展现。

当年，龙岗的三百多户民宅中，家家都住有抗大学员，老一辈无产阶级革命家刘少奇、陈毅、粟裕、郑位三、罗炳辉等曾在这里生活战斗过，军民朝夕相处，关系无间。其中，新四军副军长张云逸、罗炳辉曾先后兼任八分校校长。

It is also the “Cradle of Chinese Revolution”. In 1941, the Eighth Branch of Counter-Japanese Military and Political University was set here. During four years, the school trained more than 2,000 cadets, and each of the 300-odd households of Longgang village accommodated some of them. In addition, proletarian revolutionaries such as Liu Shaoqi, Chen Yi, Su Yu, Zheng Weisan, and Luo Binghui, once lived or fought here.

Today, as you walk into the school, you can see the revolutionary heroes’ sculptures of the New Fourth Army. Inside the house are old items that present the history of Chinese revolution, such as gasoline lamps and bugles, military uniforms, rifles and bayonets captured from enemies, knives and telephones used by Luo Binghui.
